Save yourself – and the coral – before it’s too late!
The Coral Triangle Center (CTC) is a foundation focusing on protection and conservation of coastal and marine ecosystems. For their brand new visitor center in Sanur, Bali we developed a creative concept to attract, entertain and educate a specific target group: millennials. The result: ‘SOS from the deep’ – the world’s first NGO exploited educational escape room.
The experience includes a storyline with an introduction to coral reefs, insights in their importance, the threats they face and ultimately the solutions for the future to resist these threats. Contestants will be locked up voluntarily and will have to try to release themselves within 1 hour by solving a sequence of thematic hands-on puzzles.
The escape room interiors and the puzzles to be solved were designed and developed in close collaboration with CTC to immerse the contestants in the storyline, both mentally and physically. Each of the interactive puzzles touches upon a relevant subject, varying from endangered animal species and plastic pollution to marine parks and preservation programs
‘SOS from the deep’ provides an immersive experience for the visitors, and permanent funding for the CTC foundation.
