Activations for NS – Buitenpoorten at Amsterdam CS
Buitenpoorten is a joint initiative to promote nature reserves close to train stations in The Netherlands. NS (Dutch Railways) asked me to create two activation concepts in the shopping gallery of Amsterdam Central Station, to inspire and activate people to visit station Santpoort-Noord: the gateway to Nationaal Park Zuid Kennemerland.
The campaign runs from April to October, and every month a different activation is on display.
We created two concepts which will exchange every month. First concepts is a Tiny Forest: a sample of the beautiful flora available in NPZK. Hidden between the shrubs, plants and trees various stuffed local animals are placed.
The second concept is the Diorama Dune: a large grass covered box with peek holes. Inside a variety of stuffed animals against panorama photography backwalls were visible, also showing the different landscapes and points of interest.
Special thanks to Rik Doornberg and Serge van der Krieken.
